A fabulous Edwardian era 14K yellow gold mesh purse crafted by American jewelry house, Lebolt & Co. Lebolt & Co began making jewelry around 1915 and ceased metalwork production during World War II. They made quality jewelry, such as this beautiful heavyweight mesh purse, large enough to fit your cell phone! The mesh feels absolutely luxurious - like the softest fabric.
The top of the purse is set with old mine cut diamonds alternating with synthetic rubies. The diamonds are near colorless and very clean - G/H in color and VS in clarity. They weigh a total of approximately 0.90 carats. The synthetic rubies display a fiery true red color and contrast beautifully against the gold and diamonds. A ruby is also set on the top of the clasp, which you push to open the purse. There is a safety slide that you move left or right in order to lock and unlock the bag. Inside is engraved “MRS. J.L. RUSSELL, CARE OF LEBOLT & Co. N.Y. - CHICAGO” and “LEBOLT 14K” for makers mark and gold purity. There is another smaller compartment that can be opened to add smaller items separately.
Small gold balls were added to the bottom of the purse for added movement. There is a chain attached to a ring for added security. A gorgeous addition to your collection, and a great piece for a night out!
