A rare Russian Art Nouveau period pendant and brooch depicting a vine of grapes set with demantoid garnets. The pendant has beautiful curving lines for the vines, with leaves displaying a matte finish for contrasting textures. The green demantoid garnets showcase a lovely lime green color and are cut quite unusually - the tops of the stones look like stars! There are a total of approximately 1.9 carats in garnets.
This special and rare piece was crafted in Moscow between 1908 and 1927. The pendant is marked in various places with the 56 zolotnik imperial gold standard, along with Moscow assay marks. The bale of the pendant is removable so that it can easily be worn as a brooch.
