An English Victorian era mesh coin purse crafted in silky 9K yellow and rose gold. The mesh feels like smooth fabric and is very comfortable to wear. It opens so that you can place any mementos or coins of your choosing. The purse is connected to a link chain that is attached to a ring. Behind the purse is an additional bale so that it could be hung on a chain in two different spots. The ring/bale, the center of the purse, as well as nearby the opening of the purse are all marked for 9K gold.
It is also stamped with maker's mark, the Birmingham assay office stamp, and date stamp for 1864. The letter “P” is inverted, which is unusual, but it doesn’t appear to be any other letter.
A fabulous piece that can be worn in many ways!
