An abstract Australian opal, diamond, and pearl brooch made in 18K yellow gold, designed by American jeweler Angela Conty. Conty’s work centers around natural themes, such as flowers and underwater life. To me, this particular piece appears to be a flower from a Georgia O’Keeffe painting!
The centerpiece of this pin is the large carved Australian lightning ridge opal that flashes vibrant violets and greens, with subtle pops of yellow and orange. A line of brilliant cut diamonds is set in the center of the opal, as well as a floral pattern of diamonds set below the opal. White satiny pearls appear to be floating around the stone in a delicate arrangement, like bubbles in water. And finally, a black Tahitian pearl drop completes the piece.
The back of the pin is signed “Conty 18K” for makers mark and gold purity.
