An antique turn-of-the-century diamond bar pin showcasing a rare natural saltwater pearl in the center. Displaying a soft creamy color with a pink overtone, the central oval shaped pearl measures 8.7 mm by 7.9 mm. It is certified by GIA as a natural saltwater pearl with no indications of treatment.
The pearl is surrounded by a halo of old European cut diamonds, with two additional diamonds set along the gold bar. They are all bright and fiery stones that weigh a total of approximately 1.3 carats - G/H in color and SI in clarity overall.
The bar pin measures 1.3 inches wide. Two gold half-loops were soldered to the back of the pin so that the pin sits straight up when worn as a brooch. Often, bar pins will flop down but this one has been adjusted to prevent that. It is worn with a typical C-clasp found in older pieces such as this.
