An absolutely stunning Victorian-era hardstone cameo brooch and pendant with diamond accents around the frame. This French-made cameo depicts the profile of a noblewoman with an impressively detailed carving of her hair and dress with a ruffled neck. Bright old mine cut and rose cut diamonds are set in the frame and weigh a total of approximately 1.7 carats. They twinkle in the light beautifully. The diamonds in the frame are open-backed, allowing for easy cleaning! The bail is set with a line of closed-back rose cut diamonds, weighing approximately 0.06 carats.
Removable brooch fittings and bail allow this piece to be worn seamlessly as either a pendant or a pin. French hallmarks for 18K gold and maker’s marks are visible on the pin, bail, bail ring, and C clasp. Letters are etched on the back of the cameo, most likely the maker of the cameo. For the cherry on top, the original fitted box is included with this rare collectible piece!
