A rare early Victorian-era heavily chased vinaigrette locket crafted in solid 14K gold with beautiful details throughout. There is an engine turned design both on the front and back of the pendant. The front compartment has a pearl halo and can be filled with gems or other mementos. The back compartment opens to reveal a floral motif gold cutout that used to house a scented sponge. The top ring spins so it can be used as a bail. A really lovely piece in phenomenal condition for its age. It would pair beautifully on a pocket watch chain or on longuard chain!
Metal: 14K Yellow Gold (acid tested)
Weight: 11.3 grams
Measurement: 1 inch wide diameter, 1.5 inch long including the top bail
Condition: In very good antique condition with some minor surface wear consistent with age. The back compartment opens and
closes securely and can easily hold your favorite scent. The front compartment would most likely need jeweler’s tools to open and close.
