A pair of 14K gold Victorian era earrings depicting an enameled Lion of St. Mark. Highly detailed painting shows a woman carrying a staff, possibly a saint of a powerful historical figure. The winged lion sits behind her with a book in front of him. These were likely buttons originally and were later converted into these dangling earrings. Highly wearable and beautifully made!
Metal: 14K Yellow Gold (acid tested)

Measurement of Center Disc: 21.8 mm diameter
Markings: None
Condition: In good antique condition with some surface wear consistent with age. There is a lead solder repair mark on the bottom seam of the earring. Not visible when worn but noticeable when you take them off and examine carefully.
