A striking late 19th century micro mosaic brooch set within a beautifully designed 21K yellow gold frame in the Etruscan Revival style.  Fine antique micro-mosaics such as this piece feature miniscule glass tesserae that are carefully arranged to create a much larger image.  This particular brooch depicts an architectural structure set within an unusual cobalt blue background.  You can see all the little details in the columns, windows, even the steps going down to the cobbled ground.  A labor of love, micromosaic pieces are highly collectible, particularly when the background color is a bright color like this one.  A fabulous piece!
