A very cool vintage 14K yellow gold ring with a double-headed eagle and enameled details along the shoulders. The mythical eagle takes center stage in this ring, with nice engraving work for its wings and tail. The double-headed eagle is an old emblem used by many different countries and royal houses in Europe since the early Medieval times. It is also a symbol taken up by the Free Masons.
There is a brilliant cut diamond set in the center, weighing approximately 0.5 carats. It is H/I in color, VS in clarity. Along the shoulders are two different enameled themes. One side has a white rose with a red cross, while the other side has black enameling with the number 32 and a Hebrew letter. Inside the ring is marked “14KT” for gold purity marks and was engraved “A.I. ROLLINS 1945.”
A rare and interesting find with loads of history and symbolism.
