An Art Nouveau era Egyptian Revival fob and pin by Newark maker Krementz of a lotus blooming between a pair of sphinxes. A sphinx is a mythological creature often known to be guardians with the head of a human, the body of a lion, and the wings of a bird. The details in this piece are absolutely incredible, especially considering it is only an inch long by 1.25 inches wide. There are 2 bright old mine cut diamonds that appear to be blooming from the lotus flower below. The back of the piece is stamped “14K” for gold purity and with the Krementz maker’s mark. A rare and collectible piece!
