A rare and highly collectible circa 1950s Tiffany and Co. palladium band centering a fiery old European cut diamond weighing approximately 0.5 carats. Based on weight, palladium is currently more valuable than either platinum or pure gold and is harder than either metal! Historically, palladium became a substitute for platinum in jewelry during World War II when platinum was classified as a vital national resource.
This beautiful example of palladium jewelry displays sleek lines and holds a classic appeal. The inside of the ring is marked “950 PALLADIUM” for metal purity and “TIFFANY & CO” for the maker’s mark.
