An outstanding 18K gold Victorian era locket centering an intricately carved bloodstone intaglio with a coat of arms, a rising eagle, and the Latin phrase “Murus aeneus conscientia sana” (translating to “A sound conscience is a wall of brass”) written around the border. The back of the locket is also etched with an eagle and a monogram “OPW/.” Inside the locket is one compartment with the original frame where you can add a photo or other memento. The locket measures a larger 1.3” long by 1” wide and weighs a hefty 14.9 grams. A very special and rare piece to add to your jewelry collection!
